For Clients

The selection of a psychotherapist to help either yourself or your child is an important and personal decision that takes time and consideration.  Research has shown that a good fit between client and therapist is a strong predictor of success in psychotherapy.   In an initial phone conversation we will discuss your reasons for seeking therapy and I will share my thoughts and professional approach to the issues you present in order to help us determine whether we are a good match.  


Outlined below are some details regarding how my practice works once psychotherapy begins.

  • I will protect the confidentiality of all information obtained in the course of therapy, except for compelling professional reasons, and in accordance with the National Association of Social Workers Code of Ethics and the Laws of New York State.  
  • A copy of HIPPA/privacy practices will be provided. 
  • A copy of your specific rights and responsibilities as a client and health care recipient will be provided.

  • \Payment is expected at each session by cash or check unless an arrangement is made for monthly payments. 
  • Cancellation notice is required twenty-four hours prior to a scheduled session to avoid charges for missed appointments.

  • Upon request, I will provide you with a statement including service codes and diagnosis as required by insurance companies for out of network reimbursement.  
  • A sliding scale fee may be available, depending on your resources.
  •  If you have a crisis which needs immediate assistance and you cannot reach me, please go to your local hospital emergency room or call 911.
